Re: New York Anime Fest AMV Contest @ NYCC
I despise VLC :P What...? Why? Are you running any OS other than Windows? Because to tell you the truth that's understandable. VLC is very bad on other OSs. Otherwise there's nothing to 'despise' about it. Seriously, besides visuals for audio-only, it beats everything else out there. I use it for t...

Re: x264 Settings... Help Needed
To be honest, I was never much interested in the settings. I used to use ZarxGUI and before that just simple scripts with MP4box and the encoder directly. And I've already received a lot of help from everyone in this thread concerning replication of that. So between that and the wiki, I've learned ...

Re: New York Anime Fest AMV Contest @ NYCC
FLAC is a no go, most likely. Just stick to the basics. No watermarks at all, please. When I say 480 as 16:9, I mean 848x480. At least, for now. I'm not 100% how it'll be played back just yet. As I feared, an Anime Music Video competition with poor audio support...has happened to me in college as w...

Re: x264 Settings... Help Needed
Actually MPEGStreamClip has an extensive interface (as seen on the front page), I just didn't understand the settings and when they made more sense, I hadn't realized QuickTime was messing it up anyway. That's what I mean. You've obviously not seen MeGUI. There's a ToolTip for nearly every single s...

Re: New York Anime Fest AMV Contest @ NYCC
Dialogue is discouraged as it says, however, if it's needed in the video, and it's done right, it'll only improve your video. It's up to you. Karaoke subtitles.. well, I'd probably remove them, but once again it's up to you, however I'd suggest you do so. They usually hinder videos in my experience...

Re: Ripping Blu-ray movies
Seriously just get AnyDVD, [Redacted] and then just copy the m2ts files. Rename the extension to .mpg for editing purposes. Last time I checked, MKVMerge doesn't import BRMPEG format. Plus renaming it to .mpg makes it easier to compress in MeGUI or whatever else. not a lot of programs like .m2ts, ju...

Option 1:
Get a better PC.
Option 2:
Use something more efficient than Vegas.
Seriously, Adobe programs packed with an Nvidia Quadro or AMD Fire card are unbeatable.

Re: Magix Movie Edit Pro
I've used MEP for quite a few years now. I've always got the latest version. I've never used it for editing online sourced content though, such as anime. I've got both MEP17 and VPX but I can't find a reason to use VPX over MEP17. I only use MEP for basic edits anyway. Everything else I switch to th...

Re: Problems with BD and DVDfab?
[Redacted.] Then you can simply go to Computer > Disc Drive > BDMV > STREAM and copy the original .m2ts file (rename to .mpg for editing purposes).
