Re: All at once or just one at a time?

Typically, I watch 1-4 episodes of whatever I feel like every day. I bounce around a lot, usually with 4-5 shows in progress at any time and normally don't watch all four from the same show. But if a story arc is particularly engaging, I'll watch it in one sitting. And some shows work better when wa...

Re: Editing Comforts

I have trouble motivating myself when I'm at home. Too many distractions, and I've not been able to make a physically or psychologically separate place for serious activities. Consequently, I do most of my editing on breaks/lunch at work. Strangely enough, my best progress seems to get made on the s...

Re: What happened to gore anime?

Mnemosyne has lots of flesh-rending, not so much blood-spurting. Of course wounds leak blood, but it's no dokuro-chan. On the other hand, the main characters tend to regenerate and go about their business, so it may lack some of the impact you mentioned earlier.

Re: Short Sad Love Animes!

Koi Kaze, anyone?

It's 13-episodes short, and while you see the ending from the first episode, you resist it the whole way through. When boy and girl get together in a happy ending, it makes you so very very sad.

Re: Energy.

I'm music-driven. There's one song in particular that rarely fails to inspire or shame me back to the project at hand. Mission by Rush.

Also, daydreaming time helps. My best editing happens on lunch break at work. Yay manual labor.

Re: Dilemma regarding source acquisition

Hmm, I'm not sure what other show would work. I was planning to focus on the Church of Terra with a song about pedagoguery and violence. The mob scenes, brainwashing, and needless martyrdom would've fit perfectly, and possibly avoided some of the framerate issues. But I guess it'll stay in the queue...

Dilemma regarding source acquisition

I have an idea I would love to pursue. But the usual channels for finding the source footage are not helping, and I'm wondering what y'all think an appropriate solution would be. Specifically, I want to get my hands on Legend of the Galactic Heroes . Those in the know realize it has never been and p...

Re: Changing default encode settings in virtualdubmod?

I use Vdub mostly for cutting clips. This means when I'm looking for a scene, I'm bouncing between a bunch of episodes. The shortcuts come into play because I used DVDFab to rip. When you do this, it makes a chain of four subfolders before actually laying the files down. I find this cumbersome, but ...
