Can't find a good .avi codec. Some help, please?
So, about a month ago, my computer crashed hard and I had to have to completely reassembled. Since then, I've gotten almost everything back together, but I'm having a problem. The video for .avi files, while the audio will run just fine, won't play when I open them. Also, when I go to open them in m...

Second Pass On Virtualdubmod Not Working
The subject heading says it all. Though I've gotten virtualdubmod to work just fine, and the first pass turns out all right, it's still in the area of 97 MB, and stays that way after the second pass. This has happened to be before, and I've yet to figure out what I need to do to correct the problem ...

Virtualdubmod Issues
All right so, as the subject suggests, I'm having some vicious trouble with virtualdubmod. Currently, I'm having two problems for two seperate videos. On the first, for some reason, virtualdubmod simply will not save an avisynth file. I've followed the guide exactly and it has worked for other video...

Encoding Issue - Video Comes Up Black
Okay, so, I've just finished my first pass in Virtualdubmod. I followed the video compression guide to the T, but something's wrong. When I try to open the file in Windows Media Player, it doesn't work at all, and when I try to open it in the DivX Player, only the audio plays. What is the problem, h...

Okay, so I got amvapp, and am looking through Quu's Guide to video game footage use. In that, it is mentioned that virtualdubmod can compress and clean up a video post-editing. I like that idea quite a bit, since the video I'm trying to compress is already complete. Virtualdubmod accepts my source f...

I did the first part already and got to the second part, but as I mentioned, I don't entirely understand the instructions given by the guides. Also, when I attempted to download virtualdubmod, there were several errors that I'm not sure how to repair (though I am working on it). Seriously. I am hone...

Compression for Dumbies (Okay, a Dumby) (aka: WMM-2 Help)
I'm going to come right out with it and say that I don't understand the guides. Every other thread that contained a question similar to mine didn't help, because all the posts were either people pointing to the guides, or using terminology I don't understand. So, hopefully, I can get some help with ...
