Re: Why is Virtual Dub not opening VOB files?
That must be it! Now that you say it, that sounds totally familiar. Now I'm just wondering why AMVorg changed which one they package with their editing suite, because I'm positive I downloaded it here back then...

Why is Virtual Dub not opening VOB files?
I've been out of the game for a few years and the software's gone through a couple of generations, and now I've successfully ripped the VOB files off of my DVD, but Virtual Dub is telling me it's an invalid file format. What? The older versions of Virtual Dub never had any problem with VOBs, do I ne...

Re: Getting VOBs out of WinX DVD ripper?
Okay, so, tried that and DVDFab successfully gave me VOB files, but now Virtualdub says VOBs can't be opened. What's with that?

Getting VOBs out of WinX DVD ripper?
So I'm a few years behind on the tech here as I took a break from editing while I was finishing up school, and DVD Ripper now looks completely different than I remember and it's got me at a bit of a loss. Back in the day, all it did was rip the data files out of a DVD, now it seems to be more based ...

Open-source editors; what are the best names?
I've found a lot of love for open-source art programs and especially have found that tech help tends to be a lot easier to find through forums and such than I've ever managed to get on for-profit software; so as much as I love the open-source 3D animators and 2D art programs I have, I thought I shou...

Does anybody use Sony's Vegas Movie Studio?
I really don't think I'm at a pro kind of level that would actually be able to make any use of the fancier programs like Vegas Studio, so I'm looking at 'Movie Studio Platinum Pro 9' and wondering if you can do masking with that one. That's the only kind of advanced thing I can really foresee myself...

Cropping full screen footage to match widescreen footage
I'm trying to use footage from both the series and movie of an anime and I want to crop the video on the series footage so that it looks widescreen and doesn't break the visual flow. I don't want to just squish it, I want to cut off the top and bottom of the image. Is there a simple way to do this i...

Virtualdub seems to be pinching my video
I just ripped Conqueror of Shamballa off the DVD and when I open the VOB files, they're being squished into a 'fullscreen' size rather than the 'widescreen'. How do I fix my screen dimensions here?

Stoik
I'm having the same problem. I had 'stoik video converter' recomended to me as something that could handle the stuff that virtual dub couldn't, but now it keeps shutting down almost instantly when i try to render anything through it. I've been fussing with it, trying to figure out what's wrong, and ...
