You're right. I'm not aware of of a WMV10 codec out there ... But I found MS' Windows Media Player to be weird sometimes. :? Usually though, I make it a habit to upgrade 'everything' to the newest version. You'd never know what kind of bugs (or security holes in the case of most MS apps) have been p...

Hello Ch@nTy, Make sure your friend has the latest version of whatever codec you used to compress your video. If you used Windows Media, make sure the newest version of Windows Media installed, which is 10. If you used DivX, try DivX 5.2.1. For XviD, try ffdshow. If your friend is using a Mac, try u...

There is also FFusion: http://aldorandenet.free.fr/codecs/ which will allow you to play XviD files in QuickTime. 3ivx can do this, too: http://www.3ivx.com/download/macos.html . I also heard the latest version of the DivX 5.21 codec can do this too but I haven't checked. If you prefer others aside f...

That's pretty...

You can use DiVA (http://diva.3ivx.com) to convert the VOB files to something usable in iMovie or Final Cut. If you're using iMovie I would use the DVCPRO codec. If using Final Cut, I would use Apple Pixlet, Apple Animation, PNG, TIFF, Uncompressed 4:2:2, or Component (although, I use PhotoJPEG on t...

That's pretty sweet. I wish I had that. :( /me beats 800 Mhz G4 iBook with a muddy stick As with re-ripping the VOB files, no that's not needed. Unless you have the MPEG-2 component installed, you would have to convert the VOBs to QuickTime (using a lossless codec, like Apple Pixlet or Apple Animati...
