i would guess the hair color thing is to show who is who. like no 2 characters have the same hair color, but if they do there is something that sets them aside from others (glasses, piercings, etc...)

some comp animation is good though (depending on what anime your watching). I would say it depends on WHO does the live action movies (producers & directors). b/c there are some really good directors who actually may be able to do a good Eva live action. But those same directors would do a sucky job doing an anime like Samurai Deeper Kyo (just an ex.). It's like who is good...
