Best answer to this? Go to the 'General Anime' forum and read the bold stickie "How to spot a bootleg". That will tell you how to look and see which dvds are 'official/legal' and which are not. Generally, if it has an option for Chinese subtitles (and no dub track), it's a bootleg. Japanese imports...

Err...there's this site called DiscountAnimeDVD and it's considered a 'bootleg' site...well...how is it a bootleg site? (JW) I know that some of the DVDs there such as Naruto have been imported from Japan since there aren't any American Naruto DVDs for sale...but is that illlegal?
