In response to your debate over the 120 GB vs 200 GB, the 120's right now have the best cost per MB (or per GB). If the cost of a 3U case is not much higher than a 2U then it might not be a bad idea to do that and just get one, two, maybe three more 120 GB drives. Of course this is assuming that the...

Yeah I've done it before, it's a bit of a pain in the ass, but it's not too bad. I have dual CPUs which seems to help somewhat. For the parts I would be using it it would be worth it (to me anyway).

Oh and as far as HUFFYUV taking up huge amounts of CPU time, it's been my experience that it's pretty fast and that often the bottleneck is the hard drive.

First of all, I disagree with ErMac saying it would be useless, because I specifically asked about because I do have a use for it. That use is for a video stream with frames that consists of very few colors, and large solid blocks of color that don't change much over time. As an example of one of th...

Lossless AVI Codec with interframe compression?

Does anyone know of a lossless video codec that also provides interframe compression? Please don't say HUFFYUV, because it doesn't have interframe compression. Thanks.

Well, "Photoshop" is not a video format, so that doesn't really help me. Not to mention the fact I already said that in lieu of a suitable video format, the photoshop still image format (in sequence) is what I've been using. That or a track matte. But thanks anyway.

Transparency (Alpha Channel) in Video Files?

Does anyone know of a video format that will allow for an alpha channel that can be used in premiere? Usually when I need to do that I export the clip as frames, do what I need to do (usually in photoshop) then use a sequence of photoshop frames in premiere, since it will use the alpha channel then....

Oh you want it at an affordable size? T.S. Divx 5.x ( pay ): Oh that VOB conversion? Yeah 3 1/2 or 5 1/4 flo...
