how does modifing a mkv help convert a mp4????

Long Story short

I had just recently finished a project a while ago. but I had accidently deleted the finished WMV file shortly after converting it into a MP4 with PSP video 9.

Is there any way to convert the MP4 into a WMV? or at least and AVI or MOV???

I was wandering if there any any good free editor's of equal or better quality Windows Movie Maker.

or some suggested mods to gett the most out of WMM.

Umm I kinda need help getting MP4 files fom a-m-v.org to play on the PSP? Whenever i try to play them all that comes up is "file type not supported".
When I can Mp4s from google video and gametrailers.com no problem.
please help.

I gernally use the Max video converter
but while it has a high quality output for the amv's you do lose video controls. (can't ff or rw)
