What's a good program to rip DVDs for editing in Sony Vegas? Also, what codecs should I install?

I should. I already uninstalled them and reinstalled them once. Didn't help.

Any clips I preview in WMM only show in black and white unless they're in the editing bar. And any videos I play in Windows Media Player are also in grayscale, even if I have not added the grayscale effect.

Anyone know what could cause this and/or how to fix it?

Okay, so when I upload a video or song into Vegas, I can preview it fine UNLESS it's in the editing section. If I try to preview anything after it's in the editing field, nothing happens. Any ideas on what is wrong?

What do you mean by "audio checkbox"?

I'm new to Vegas, so dont' really know what's going on or where anything is.

Well, I'm trying to use an MP3 file, but when I import it and put it in the video, there's no sound. Like it's on mute.

And it's not on mute, because I checked my volume and everything.

What kind of audio files can be used in Vegas?

Why not? They work for me. In fact, I'm opening them in WMM and saving as a movie file so I can use them in Vegas.

How does one go about making clips of videos in Vegas? Is there an automatic setting for it as in WMM, or does it have to be done manually?
