Final Cut Express - view the "waveform" of your au
Okay, this is a really dumb question... But I got Final Cut Express, imported my song as an aiff, etc. It only shows up as a stereo green bar in my audio track. I went into Preferences and checked "view audio waveforms". Still nothing. How can I get it to show up as a waveform so I can add markers a...

I'll have, like, a line of dialogue, one track of background music or ambient noise, and occaisionally a sound effect such as a buzz or click overlapping with the dialogue. When I say multiple files, I mean, each line is a separate file so I can move them around on the timeline, as opposed to having...

iMovie using too much memory with dialogue
Anyone know a good way to keep iMovie from using up too much RAM? Short of getting more ram. I've made plenty of AMVs with it, even editing in HD, but now I'm trying to insert dialogue and sound effects and am finding my poor little video editor is maxing out its capacity to play video without stutt...

Audacity problem - export to MP3
I'm having a problem with that nasty little Mac freeware program called Audacity. I wish to use it to encode a *.aiff file to a smaller MP3 so that I can get all my recorded dialogue lines into iMovie without any crashes or hiccups. When I try to export to MP3, Audacity comes up with an error saying...

Downloads, legal or otherwise, are only worth it if you just want to watch the anime and don't care about the quality of what you're seeing. Downloaded footage is the fodder of cheap AMVs everywhere, and everybody knows it. If you're willing to spend the money on legal downloads, why not just go on ...

Re: Masking without the benefit of Premiere or AE
http://www.animemusicvideos.org/guides/lipsync/lipsync2.html That could apply, possibly, to WMMwhatever if you're able to do multi-track editing. In Windows Movie Maker, you have one video track. However, I've found a way around the limits of my own video program (iMovie) that is very similar to WM...

Some programs have serious personal issues when it comes to doing multi-pass encoding. If your end product is "choppy" (read, jerky?), then try using a codec that doesn't do a multipass. It'll take less time and may give you a better end product. Also, fiddle around with the bitrate. A higher bitrat...

I Still Believe - Grave of the Fireflies vid
After a long and entirely unnecessary delay (i.e., I couldn't make up my mind about the last 3 seconds), "I Still Believe" is finally available for download. Grave of the Fireflies & Jeremy Camp. Brief description: One of the very, very few GOTF vids that is sad, but not entirely depressing. Enjoy. ...

OMG!! LOTR was animated! Yes, more precisely, LOTR was composited. They used all the classic cinematic techniques (i.e., masking, bluescreening, etc.) and put on top of that, 3-D backgrounds (made from real footage, but obviously not all shot in the actually settings), motion characters (Go...

This could/should/oughta be added to Kirin's Guide to AMVs with iMovie. Clip Creator update. Clip Creator 2 offers several alternatives to automatically batching clips in 5-minute segments. The way Kirin suggests - i.e., to splice up your humongous episodes and then import them all into iMovie and d...
