When I watched it the first time(4 Years ago) I didn't understand the wohole story, too.
But now it's one of my favorite Anime Movies besides Ghost in the Shell and Mononoke Hime.

imho rammstein is very good, but the Lyrics sometimes are realy strange, the song "Mein Teil" for example is about eating a human.
