Oh! I remember getting my mother into anime. I showed her what I had, and also anything that looked like something she'd like. I feel entirely lucky that she's willing to try anything once. She has more anime than I do!

Don't feel too bad. I've had similar reveries since I was 6. With just about anything. I think it's a psychological connection to what you're watching; I find that it sometimes helps a person look at what they're watching from a new perspective. The problem is when the person putting themselves into...

I also think it helps in this decision to consider the character. Hypothetically, if they were wandering about in the streets, would they find it flattering or creepy to see someone dressed like them? I think it best to leave the cosplay in the con.
