I know a lot of traditional editing books won't work as well for AMVs since they mostly deal with how to effectively tell a story through editing. Don't have the timestamp right now but in the first Memory Flash, the Haibane Renmei track is amazing. The sync is very good for the slower, first part of that section of the song and then the more dramatic part is synced perfectly (especially if you've seen the anime, it's much more impactful).
