If you're editing from AVI files which are DivX then you're running into keyframeing issues which is why stuff is being weird, my brain digested what I read last night. glad to know it's just my source video and not my computer. FYI
just for your information the effect you're trying to create is called cepiatone which was named after cepia which I believe was the name of the developing chemical used at the time... over the years film chemicaly treated with this turned slightly brown which gives that "old time" effect.

sub for enjoyment watching.. and of course dub or raw for AMV action.. unless of course you've got some angle going where just the right scene with it's subtitle makes your video... so I'd say both have a use.
