Re: Persona 3: Those Voices at Night

Yep, it's a Chroma key effect in WMM. The background color can be played with via .xml, and I think you can use two videos so long as the pixels have the right RGB value, but it'd be a nightmare to try to do it frame by frame since it's a transition effect (I think the best WMM can reasonably do is ...

Re: Persona 3: Those Voices at Night

No worries, I'm grateful for the time you put into thinking about it, and glad that it grew on you! I'm a sucker for songs with moody, ominous lyrics backed by cheerful, upbeat music, and though it didn't even occur to me that "Spaceman" fits the bill, it really does (and the Killers are all about t...

Re: Persona 3: Those Voices at Night

Wow, thank you! I haven't bought a new editor yet, but your advice helped break the tie on which one to buy (well, the prices broke that tie, but this helped too!). One thing I do like about Movie Maker is how the intuitive, drag-and-drop timeline interface lets you test out different arrangements o...

Re: Persona 3: Those Voices at Night

Thanks, I'm glad you like it (and yeah, the song's really good - I'm surprised it hadn't already been used in a video)! Yeah, WMM couldn't even do half of what's in the video by itself. The partial fade transitions were a custom effect I'd first made for an older video, and those clock-sweeps probab...

Re: movie maker

If you're talking multiple full-length episodes, there's no way for that not to take a long time. Just try to keep the project as simple as you can (if you don't care about anything else, just make it one giant clip, no breaks, transitions or effects), click save before you go to bed, and check it i...

Re: How do I get WMM to use AVS without having to reinstall AVSy

AVS files, as in AviSynth? There's no way to make Windows Movie Maker use them. Your best bet is to keep Virtualdub or Virtualdubmod and use them to apply the AVS effect, and then save the movie clip and load that into Movie Maker (you'll need AviSynth too, but they're both free programs, you can fi...

Re: Black Mass Reverends

Great quality and synching, you kept the machine-gun pace up and running all the way through the video, and the microphone shot halfway through's a nice touch, adding a little bit of humor without breaking the rhythm.

Re: Persona 3: Those Voices at Night

Gracias! It's one of mine too (I've never played any game that captured the feel of an anime series, of playing through a whole season's worth of storylines, the way P3 does), and the video was born just from hearing the lyric "the Dream Maker's gonna make you mad" and thinking of the Velvet Room (a...

Re: Persona 3: Those Voices at Night

It uses some images from The Answer, but not in a way that'd spoil anything. The video's just about The Journey. =)

Persona 3: Those Voices at Night

Five years ago I posted my first video on AMV, and I was determined to stick with Windows Movie Maker until I'd finished one really good, site-worthy video (because hey, if I can make a good AMV with Movie Maker, then I'll be more than ready for what any other editor can offer). The last video I mad...
