Well, you can disable the media manager. It's that simple, lol. And, I never really checked how much of my ram was being used, but all I can say is try to open 3 instances of Premiere each containing a big project...

From experience, Vegas only crashed on me once, but I was still able to save my project before having to close Vegas. But yes, it does have limitations, all programs do. I never understood the people going for Mac. I understand Final Cut Pro, but Avid compares entirely in terms of power. If you want convenience, nothing equals Vegas, it's fast and efficient editing. Well, when I wanna preview my work I render it with PICVideo Lossless JPEG Codec at quality draft, and my audio pcm uncomporessed or mpeg-layer3.
