Processor Replacement

I ended up replacing my processor in my computer from a Dual core 3.4ghz to a Core 2 duo 2.66 ghz, ya think itll give a better performance syncing the audio and video in preview mode? and make rendering alittle faster due to the fact that its a better processor?

When i render my music video's the quality doesnt seem to be as good as it can be, i got the quality jacked up to 4mbps, but it still seems to lack... quality, perhaps my source video files are iffy, but hypathetically speaking lets say theyre not.
