How does one uninstall codecs? The only ones I know the location of are xvid and a few others. .VOB's and basic .avi's/.wmv's screw up as well.

VLC seems to be the only program now that will properly play video files. Others (WMP, Winamp, and various web players)will play audio but the video is just black with occasional filckers of blue or red patterns. I've got the FLCL dvd that has all 6 eps on one dvd, but can't figure out how to turn subtitles on (not for making amv btw). I go through the 3 programs listed above but can't find the option in any of them.
