Discouraging to what, exactly? What are you after, here? Do we owe you something for some reason? Have you ever tried to make an AMV yourself? It's a lot of work, and 95% of the time, people just aren't going to do that on the say-so of a complete stranger. They have to be interested or invested in...

And frankly, if I should expect the "do it yourself" reply for all of my suggestions, I feel that's very discouraging, especially since I'm offering so much creative control.
