Oh, and something I forgot—has anything changed (software/hardware-wise) since those articles that I linked to above (about MPEG editing)? Is the latest non-linear software able to handle MPEG-2 better now, than before? (Again, not looking for an "excuse" to use MPEG—I don't want to use it! I just a...

Detailed info about why MPEG-2/XviD isn't good for editing?
I know, I know that it isn't. I use a Mac for my video editing most of the time, and edit in DV MOV. I've researched the a-m-v.org Guide and about MPEG, it says this: "the editing will not be frame accurate and you may find that the cut you thought was spot-on actually pops into the next scene when ...

I'm a pathetic fangirl. (Traditional art only. These drawings were done with no reference, so perfection is not expected! )

The tutorials on ishtori.net are invaluable. Also, check out Apple.com's discussion forums for FCP. Don't bother mentioning that you're making any kind of fan video—they frown on that sort of thing BIG TIME over there. (You might even get slapped on the wrist for talking about things like ripping DV...

Bandwidth costs vary, depending on the system resources used. A site which has straightforward downloads (not a lot of dynamic content, you know, like message boards and user control panels and other features that require databases) can get away with a cheap web hosting plan. I have sites like that....

I don't have an Intel Mac either. The only way to get to Final Cut 5.1 anything is to buy a crossgrade. The type of Mac you have is not the issue. The 5.1 version of Final Cut is really not that different from the 5.0 version (I didn't see anything huge), but I crossgraded because I didn't want to m...

Crossgrade to Final Cut Studio NOW . It's $100, and the deadline is fast approaching (I think—check site for details). I crossgraded from FCP 5 in December, and am elated. I got the whole package for $100! Motion (which my video card does not support—but eventually I'll get a new Mac which will :D ...

First off, I love Shazzy's guide! Can't thank you enough, Shazzy! And I'd love to see Kionon's guide. The more the merrier. The more knowledge, the better. Bring it on! We need more information for Mac users! Regarding MPEG-2: This probably won't help, but I'll throw it out there just in case. The l...

I have taken a peek at the guide itself. Mostly I've just followed the video tutorials. I must give some background here. I am a Mac user primarily, so I've been following the guide on ishtori.net. (Fabulous, fabulous, fabulous! I cannot say enough kind words about the people who put out this guide....
