i had the same problem with a few of mine, but it only happens with some of my music, not all of it. wmm just blows, guess one of these days i'll actually BUY something that is more capable. :lol:

avid has a free program for editing, it's kind of a pain in the ass and nothing like a real avid machine. now if you can get your dirty little paws on an avid, you can make the greatest amv of all time. 8-)

it's painstaking without a newer machine because of RAM needs and overall system performance demands. but you can try an older version of adobe premiere, something like 6.0 maybe. but you'd be better off asking Santa for a new computer.

have you checked the microshaft website? i know the earlier versions of wmm were REALLY buggy (not that the latest version is too much better :?: ) but there are updates to it with the windows media player updates (i think it's bundled with media player), anywho, get over to microsoft.com and downlo...

no capture card needed if you use something like the Dazzle. and i don't rip because the process is tedious and a pain in the ass, besides the quality is still very, very good, it's not like your looking at a crappy vhs video.

why not just save it to your computer as a regular file? forego the whole exporting business until you get the whole thing saved in wmm format, after that you can change it to mpeg or whatever, just saving it as a "complete" movie should solve the problem. and i seriously doubt codecs are the proble...

try to find yourself an "APEX" AD-1500 DVD player, then hook it up to your computer and BAM! the apex is wonderfully easy to "engineer" so you can make it Region Free, AND disable macrovision. with macrovision disabled, you can just pop a dvd into the dvd player and take footage directly into your W...
