or you could just browse through the divx/xvid footage in VirtualDub(/Mod) and re-encode little parts (basically, take your clips in vdubmod rather than vegas) with a lossless codec. that way, you only have to have 6GB free for your clips (~340 clips at ~1 second each) That's about the same as what...

83440 I love this AMV because it’s good and the author didn’t really add a lot of special effects in it (or it didn't seem like it anyway). Either way is fine. I’ve noticed that multiple animes work for AMVs that are funny and one anime is best for the drama/sentimental AMVs.

Just a suggestion from a fellow newbie. ^_^

WMM was my first program, and I used it for 5 months, so I think I’ve pretty much learned all the tricks. ^_^

Anywho, what I use to do for flash effect was to cut the clips into tiny bits and use the fade in from white/black effect (whichever one suits you).
