I open a video in VDM, I get an error (picture in first post). Turns out its a DivX/Xvid Codec problem... thats all i know :shock:

it is a DivX/Xvid Codec problem, i've been having a lot of trouble with it. How do i open it with the avisynth scropt inside of VDM?

*facepalm* okay, just go to your file, right click on it and go to properties, then click the "summary" tab and see what's under "video compression". That's all there is to it really, no need for Gspot just to find out what the codec is. Aside from that, I'm sure most people have already guessed wh...

I was looking closely at the program right before it closes and what i got was, as soon as the status bar reaches all the way across, thats when it stops working!!

The program has to "warm up" if you will. During that time it is loading its various tools and may look like it isn't responding. also, if you're on vista it may help to run as admin. I don't use vista myself, but that's the way to get around the UAC which seems to cause lots of problems. this is w...

get gspot . It'l tell you what codec it's encoded (and if you have it installed or not...among other things) If you don't have the codec, google it, download and install and that should fix your problem.
