Violins and other instruments in Anime
Hey gang. I had a great idea for an AMV the other day (as do we all). I was curious where I could find a list (or be pointed in the right direction) of anime that has a lot of musical performances - specifically violinists. I know BECK is all about music, Burst Angel has a concert, and Harhui has a ...

AE CS6: Twitch Vs. Layer-Push (?)
Hey gang, I was watching some AMVs recently (links below) and was curious about some effects. Mainly is the achieved effect a twitch combination like slide/blur, or simply one layer pushing another out of the way with motion blur applied (possibly a mixture of both?). I have AE and Pr CS6 and twitch...

Re: Encoding in Final Cut Pro X & Compressor
Yeah, FCP doesn't play well with mp4 or anything that uses the H.264 codec. You would need to uses compressor or MPEG-Streamclip (my preference) and convert it to another FCP friendly codec such as Apple ProRess 422, HDV, or in rare cases DVC-Pro. This all sounds complicated, but FCP is meant to be ...

Fullmetal Flashback
Hey gang. I was wondering if anyone has found/made a list of FMA Brotherhood episodes that contain the Elric Brother's childhood flashbacks. I remember what they show, but I don't remember which episodes. >_< (64, is a lot to sift through).
Outside of Episode 2, can anyone name a few?

MKV Conversion Issue: No Audio
Hey gang, I have a MKV file that has 2 audio tracks, and 2 sets of subtitles. (Japanese/English perspectively for each) I'm a Mac user and use Final Cut for editing. So, I need to convert these to an editable format with English audio and no subtitles. No problem! I whip out my handy-dandy MPEG-Stre...

Re: Opinions: How Do You Like to Organize Your Footage?
You are ridiculously organized. O_O Can I borrow you for a week to get my paperwork in my office in order? I generally just clip full episodes where I know that I'll use a lot of it. But if there's an episode where I only need a certain character, then I clip a lot of scenes with them. I also gener...

Opinions: How Do You Like to Organize Your Footage?
Hey gang! Whoa, It's been quite awhile since I've posted on here. Well, I'm beginning work on my third ever AMV. As I was sifting through footage, I began to wonder if my sorting/labeling method was as efficient as it could be. I've been taking footage and placing subclips in folders by character an...

Custom image Frame Rates?
I've seen this particular effect done many times in AMVs. An editor takes a sequence from an anime, masks out a character, and places a background or other characters behind them via photoshop or another program. I'm trying to figure out what frame rate the images would need to be at when editing. R...
