What NerdStrudel said was very creative, but you could also add a flash effect when the shutters open again with Brightness and Contrast, just set brightness to around 50, then back to zero in about 4-5 keyframes, whichever looks best.

This is an okay video for a first try, but try to synchronize more, and don't use clips with subtitles, since they distract the people who are watching the video. You just need to keep practicing, and play around with some effects, and if you find one you like, use it in your AMV.
