As a matter of fact you can. I did make two other videos prior to this one. People seem to like the Naruto one, at least. For those interested: Beast - Footage: Naruto Song: Rammstein- Tier A Goddess Descended - Footage: Crest of The Stars Song: Sort Sol - Elia Rising Ah yes, and thanks a lot for yo...

Hehe, well, I hope it won't disappoint you (and if it does, please refrain from telling me by applying pressure to my frail body with pointy objects :shock: )

Dark Wings (EoE video)

So, yeah ... I made an EoE one. I really don't feel like writing the same thing twice, so for a more adequate description, please follow the provided link. ^^;;
Song is "Within Temptation - Dark Wings"

Well, yes, since the registry was replaced, Windows had no record of having the codec installed, and thus it would appear as if it wasn't, even if the files were there.
So yeah, you're right. Please forgive my simplification. ;)

Of course it would. You need a codec to play huffyuv-encoded files, just like you do with XviD, DivX and so forth. Coincidentally, this is included in amvapp.
This would also explain why it claimed to lack a decompressor. You simply no longer had the codec installed after the Windows reinstall. :)

I considered doing that, but I would have liked to avoid any kind of resizing. Ah well, this'll have to do ...
Thanks for your help. :)

Yeah, tried that too. That screws up the proportions of the file, though :/

Yes, I know that vdub can parse mpeg1-files. However, this IS an mpeg2 stream, regardless of whatever bad use of extension it may have (I didn't name the thing).

My question was, and still is, if anyone knows what I need to do in order to get the darn avisynth script to work. Does anyone know?

Avisynth problem using the MPEGSource command

Okay, here's the deal: I have an mpeg2-file, which I want to be able to open in VirtualDub. I used an avisynth script for this, since I've had good experiences with that before (I'm using the avisynth that came with amvapp). Since I just wanted to open the file, my script consisted of a single line:...

Not bad at all. I'm too tired to go in-depth right now, so that'll have to wait, but overall, I liked it. :) Qualitywise, the videoside wasn't all that bad. Except for the traces of interlacing here and there, it was quite acceptable, even in twice it's original size. The sound was actually what cau...
