What is the best video editor for me?

Heres what I would like/need:

-For a Mac
-Timeline-like video editing like windows movie maker
-Something that makes easy a bunch of easy to use clips upon importing like windows movie maker
-Able to import as many file types as possible

Basically, I want the closest thing to windows movie maker for the mac. Please give some suggestions.

What Windows Movie Maker is to Windows, iMovie is to the Mac.

If you can get a Final Cut version though, I think you will be happier...

iMovie can only import DV in a MOV container, but that's easy to get around. Just convert what you have using MPEG Streamclip first.

You can also check out MediaEdit . There's a guide on setting up a project in that program here.
