Converting formats

Can x264 MKV acc be converted to avi ?..yes I know why would I want to..In order to post at stage6 which does not support x264 mkv. :?

I am experimenting with cyberlinks power director video edting software..it works with mp4 and mkv as well as avi,mpeg.wmv and more
