I'm sadly lacking in footage - creative suggestions, anyone?

Ok, so here's the deal. I wouldn't be asking this at all if I didn't want at least something to submit to NDK this year, but this is the only decent AMV I have, so I need to make it work and fast. Since I'm new at this, it's probably going to suck anyway, but you can't blame me for trying. ^^;;

Anyway. I find my concept entirely dependent on using at least some footage from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. However, only two DVDs of this series have been released in the U.S. This is a problem for me, since a) My copy of the second DVD hasn't even come yet, b) the library's doesn't seem to have come either, and c) even if I can get ahold of a copy of DVD #2, the fact remains that I really need to use some footage from the last episode.

So yes, I know I should just wait until all of the DVDs are released. But that aside, does anyone have any suggestions? Right now, I can't think of any options besides using downloaded footage, but I doubt that kind of quality will hold up in a judging contest.

Help?

but uhhhhhhhhhhhhh... idk. Think of a diffrent idea for a diffrent source. You'll prolly get more in originality if ya do.

I'm trying right now to redice the amount of content I need from the series by changing my vid to start including varied footage earlier, but the whole thing just won't make sense without...two clips, at the least. The Haruhi stuff is sort of the framework...without it, the system just fails. D:

Realize that filters work just as well on footage regardless of source?

In spite of us not being able to discuss it here, I wouldn't have any qualms about using downloaded footage in your case. That falls under the "originals are unobtainable" category, and depending on where you obtain your RAWs/subs, they can be processed into something decent-looking.

I was under the impression that Hanajima was on a deadline? If not, that's best but if so the shipment probably won't make it.

if you're in a school with an anime club, ask them if they can lend you it.
