where can i download?

so...all my friends are able to make awesome amvs with even anime they dont own. i asked them how they get the videos and they said they download it from the internet from all different websites. so i tried and every time i tried to download a anime movie or episode it wouldnt work or it would be so slow, 5 hours later its barely even finished!

does anyone know where i can download anime that will actually work and wont take forever?!?!
