i suck at this, please help!

Post by DeshwitatLRudbich » Wed Jul 30, 2008 9:03 pm

ok I have the VOB files ripped from the DVD, but when I go to index them using DGIndex, the d2v file is really small (like... less than 1mb) and it doesn't read in virtualdub. Am I skipping something I'm supposed to be doing?

You have to use avisynth to load the d2v file.

yes. make an Avisynth script with an MPEG2Source line to the d2v file, that will read in VDub.

Going off the assumption you're using windows and AMVApp.

1) Make sure you're able to see file extensions for known file types (can activate this in Folder Options in the Control Panel).

2) Make a new .txt file and put into it MPEG2Source("Pathtod2v") with the quotes, replacing the pathtod2v with the entire file path to your d2v file.

3) Rename the file so the .txt is .avs

4) ???

5) Profit.

sorry if any of this is unclear.

If you have the option for choosing an AviSynth template in Virtual dub

1. Go to the folder the d2v file is in.
2. Change the Files of Type box to All types (*.*)
3. Click on the d2v file that should now appear.
4. Before opening it, go to Use AviSynth Templete and choose MPE2Source(mpeg2dec.dll).

There, it should be in Virtual Dub now. Note, I'm doing this through Mod so I don't know if it will be there in the original.
