Okay, so what that means is you'll need to use
avisynth to open it.(that's the whole avmapp, but it includes avisynth, and it's all stuff you'll need.
Download and install it. After it's done, just open up notepad, and type the script that I posted earlier.
when you save it, instead of saving as a text file, type in the extension
.avs.
Now go to where you save this avs file, and open it up using VDM. And that's it. Basically, it's just a proxy that'll let VDM open up anything.

If you're running vista, your computer may tell you that the AMVapp failed a bunch of tests, but it probably installed fine, that's just a glitch.
