Totally Clueless, Help?

Post by AniMaya » Thu May 07, 2009 8:38 pm

Uh, well I got this Inuyasha DVD in 2006 I believe, and I'm really wanting to get the clips off of it for editing, so I downloaded the AMVApp. I used the DVD Decrypyter and saved all the Video flies to the location I want, but I don't think I can edit with them, because when I take them into Vegas, it is just a sliver of corrupt footage. What do I do next??

The files are all different types, IFO, MPEG, and BUP files. I'm totally at a loss of what to do... Please, can anybody help me?

Read the new eadfag
it will help you out, though you may need to read through it a few times

in a nutshell...
-you're only interested in the .VOB files
-Index your .VOB files using DGIndex to get a .d2v file
-write an avisynth script, deinterlacing is a good idea (and can be done with avisynth)
-open avisynth script with virtualdub (or virtualdubmod) and make clips (encode with a lossless codec such as lagarith or huffyuv)

DvdDecrypter should be giving you .VOB files.

If you haven't done so already, go to start->control panel->folder options
under the view tab, look for "Hide extentions for known file types" and uncheck it.
hit ok

if you don't see any .VOB files after that, please post a screenshot of the folder that you ripped the dvd to
