Load mkv in virtualdubmod?

I have been trying to load many of the newer anime episodes that are in mkv format into VirtualDubMod but get message that compression is not supported for Direct Stream Copy so not able to load the file or play it in VirtualDubMod. The file has AVC video format. Any method to loading these type of files into VirtualDubMod using Avisynth or that?
