Post by Ky0 » Mon May 18, 2009 3:13 am

Helloo every1, am a beginner in making AMVs and my previous experience with WMM only and made 6 AMVs, i squeezed everything i could with it and reached its limit.

i wanna get better at making the videos and i need to use more powerful program, and i saw many good programs here but confused on which one should i buy and use

Please i want some1 to recommend me a nice program with the least complexity, i dont want it to be hard and mysterious lol, i want something fairly easy and better than WMM (offcourse any program is better than wmm lol)

Any help would be appreciated

magix and vegas seem to be the choice of editors that don't want to spend tons of money on a program.

The best policy is usually to get the trial versions and play around with them to see which program you like the best.

Yeah, I used Movie Maker too, until it crashed beyond repair. It's pretty useless as far as video software goes. What video editing software you use generally depends on a few things:

- How much money you want to spend on it. Generally, the more expensive the program, the more powerful it is, but there are a few free or cheap programs that are pretty good.

- What kind of AMVs you want to make. If you want to do special effects AMVs with lots of fancy effects and overlays and stuff, you'll probably want an extremely powerful but very expensive program. If you want to do an AMV with next to no effects and a few simple transitions, then a free program will probably get the job done. If you're like me and want to do both, then try out Sony Vegas Movie Studio. It's got loads of good effects and transitions, and you can buy it online for about £25-£50.

- How easy it is to use. If you're good with computers and have lots of experience then you'll be fine with a complicated program like Adobe Premiere, but if you're just a beginner then you'll probably want something more simple. Windows Movie Maker or iMovie seem to be the popular choice for beginners since you'll probably have one of the two on your computer when you got it, depending on whether you have Mac or Windows, and they're free and easy to use. However, they're not very powerful, so it's a good idea to use something else once you've got the hang of it and made a few good AMVs.

My advice is to search around the internet for software and try out a few free trials until you find one that works for you. :D
