my quicktime video files keep lagging in this strange way, they go back 1 frame and then forward 2 frames. It looks really awful, I'm in the middle of a new editing project, and I can't convert them into lagarith avi, cuz Vdub says it can't find the stream.
Is this a known error? I also can't use them inside AE, cuz they crash midway through the render phase.

That's a frame order issue. Your best bet is loading them into virtualdub through ffvideosource or dss2 and converting them to something else.
