Strange sound in the background... (windows movie maker)

Post by Shindou Shuichi » Tue Dec 17, 2002 9:03 pm

I mentioned this in my new video post, but I'm gonna ask it here, too. For some reason, when I plat the song (Thousand Miles) in movie maker, it makes a weird cracking noise in the background... and it continues throughout the video. It isn't there in the actual song. Anyone had this problem before, or just know what is wrong and can help? Greatly appreciated...

Aliens. Attracted by the magnetic forces emanating from the ancient radio transmitter built by ghosts that is buried in the Indian graveyard your house is probably built on.

Seriously, it could be due to the audio/video compression you used on the video. Or whatever codec software you're using to play your video doesn't like WMV files.

Somebody else probably has more insight into your problem than me.

Does this crackling occur when you render the video, or is it just during realtime preview? If it's just the latter, then it's harmless (albeit annoying), and is probably a driver or system speed issue.

All the ways I tried making the video (changing around the quality, making it different types, etc.) all still made that sound. As I said, it plays as soon as it is in Movie Maker... And all my other videos play fine, so why would it be that it doesn't like WMV files? ¬¬ This is getting annoying. Anyone else have a suggestion?

Convert it to a WAVE file, if it doesn't work as a WAV, it will not work ever :O

YES it's in italian. Whatever err >_< It's the only one I could find quickly with pixtures.

Anyways.

Use winamp, hit Options|Preferences.

Click Output, double click DiskWriter Plugin. Setup the output directory. Hit OK.

Close Preferences, load your MP3 file. It should autoplay really quickly, you'll see the little slider/meter scoot along. Once it's done, go back to preferences and switch it back to DirectSound ouput(or waveOUT), I like DirectSound better. Or maybe you should right down which one it is on before you change it ^_^ That's a idea.

Anyways, once you're done setting it back up to ouput music and not a WAVE file. Goto the output directory you stated. There should be a .WAV file with the name of the mp3 file on it.

Then try it.. W00t :O
