multi-source and aspect ratios

Post by Dragonrider1227 » Fri Aug 14, 2015 10:33 pm

I have an idea for my first multi-source project but one source is 720 x 400 while the other is 736 x 576 so I would like to ask someone experienced in Multi-source projects. What the best approach in fixing this is?

actually, it's not 736 x 576. I'm using a different source and that's actually 528 x 400

Hunt down the DVDs if they exist... that's going to help. Besides that, there really isn't a wrong or right when mixing sources with different ratios and resolution. Scaling down/cropping the bigger one will generally end up looking better and more uniform, but OTOH depending on how many sources you're using and what comprises most of your footage doing the bigger res and just upscaling the few things which aren't as big as the rest might be better to retain most of the detail.

Thank you. The cropping approach really helped :)
