do you need to download something special some program or soemthing? im have no idea cause ive never used it before in my life. can anyone help? i really need help.

well SMIL is usually used for RealVideo stuff nowadays. RealOne can read smil files. The're just script files that usually reference a (or several) multimedia streams and join them, display them in different ways, etc.
To make smil you just need a text editor and the know how to script the right tags and stuff.
