It now seems that it is Sound Blaster affecting my DVD issues. Apparently I can't update the sound card because my own funking computer doesn't know I have it installed (when I run the updates/patches at least). It seriously says:
"Setup could not detect any Sound blaster Audio card on your system.
Please ensure that your Sound Blaster hardware is properly installed before running this set up program."
I am almost positive that my Sound Blaster card is properly hooked up in the motherboard, so I am truly stumped yet again. I mean, when I look at my system info...it says it's up and running and everything. ARRGH.

Crystal-SoundBlaster, Reveal-Panisonic, Equinox, Elephant started .voc & .rol's
- they are all the same 8-bit belly-up company.
Yamaha & Roland has been around for years - they started the Midi's
- they are phasing-out but do support what they have sold. $$
The future is not written yet, but the companies that have my attention are
M-Sound ( AC_6 Audio ) $$ ( Drivers are available )
WAVE ( 8 & 12 channel "Direct to Disc" encode/decode Audio ) $$$ ( no Drivers )
I myself use the Yamaha YMF-724 Sound Card and have for years.
( it only has 2 channels, but also has no limits on Recording and Playback )
AC_6 is too new!
WAVE . . T_T . . I'm not sure where this is going, but it sounds good ( pricey!! )
Every 5 years things change with computers. What was Valid in 1992 and available for Windows 3.10 are out of date by 1996. What was Valid in 1999 PCI are now garbage in 2004. Computers are the only things that out date themselves by being released on Thursday instead of Monday's.
