Blue-ray vs. HdDVD

Post by tekniks » Wed Aug 18, 2004 5:35 pm

I was wondering what you all think about these two media types. And which way you think the entertainment industry will go?

Personally I like Blue-ray better, mainly because of how many gigs you can write on to it. But i am sure that HdDVD is going to be more cost efficiant, so i think that is the way the entertainment industry will go. Any ways i wanted to know what you all think because i am planing on geting one when they are avaliable.

Considering that neither are in widespread use, I'll invoke quantum mechanics and let my answer be both choices at once, as that's about as useful an answer as you'll get out of such a hypothetical question as this.

Of course, who knows what you'll get when you actually choose to examine my answer.

BD-ROM annoys me. The idea of ANOTHER 12cm optical format just pisses me off. Though I do see advantages in being able to directly use HD Mpeg-2 transport streams rather than something being re-encoded to 10mbit Mpeg-4.
