Problems With Windows Movie Maker

Post by Tomb » Tue Aug 31, 2004 3:49 am

Er - yes, I'm not sure what's going on but I use Windows Movie Maker 2 to make my music videos ^_^ yes not a very popular prog to make AMVs, or is it? Anyways, I've tried AP and it was way too confusing for me, I've also tried Sony Vegas but it would NEVER load. But, back to the Windows Movie Maker 2 Problem.

Alright, I get Windows Movie Maker 2 up and begin to work on my AMV, I add the song and get to work rearranging clips and whatnot, thinking about how I want this AMV too look, sound, and feel emotionaly. Then...BOOM it says at the top (Not Responding) and I have to close out. I've restarted my computer countless times and I've also re-downloaded it once. Have any of you had this problem and perhaps could tell me what's going on? Or suggest maybe what I might have to do to get it too work? Thanks for your time ^_^ hopa ya can help me out, I'm really looking forward to making my next AMV T_T

Hey, i wrote somewhat of a guide on WMM2, and i listed most of the problems that cause it to crash. The guide is a little messed up due to bad HTML but try to get the best out of it.

also, is your source footage encoded in xvid/divx? Thats also another reason for constant crashing.

I hope this helps. Any other problems PM or IM me on AIM.

Cheers

Even if you've got no choice but to use DivX source, you can always convert the scenes you need to HuffYUV, which should cut down on the crashy-crashy.

(Don't attempt to convert full episodes. You will run out of disk space.)
