OAV's : the actual goods

Post by Fayt Linegod » Thu Mar 03, 2005 7:35 pm

Well, first off, downloading ripped movies of various anime for CPU viewing is supposed to be illegal, so it's not lkike you'll find them just anywhere.
Most of the time, that kind of stuff can be found on a P2P network but they often attract spyware and viral software. Does anybody have any idea as to how/where to get the anime? I mean, you're kinda screwed if you're looking for diversity and you don't have a credit card...
On top of that, some episodes don't come out in video/DVD formats so how on earth are you ever supposed to get the stuff you want?
In any case, this site contains mostly fan-built animation consisting of cuts from various different movies, so I suppose it ain't here that a body can find any complete movies.

I don't need any crap comments but if you got info when it comes to getting this stuff...

By the way, to all advanced people, it must be extremely annoying to see people who have no idea what they want, who also want to do as little work as possible, and therefore ask for things that may have taken others years to accumulate and discover and whatever, so that's why this ain't none of that. Just putting out in the open what I'd say most people are thinking about.

DVDs are a godsend. Failing that, VHS or Laserdisc capture.

Don't be cheap, buy your source. There are ethical isssues at stake here.

Yeah, because your CPU watches movies.

Sucks, doesn't it?

"Social networking" is one way to put it, I suppose.

The old-fashioned way, and the way that a lot of fansubbers still do it: Capture it off the airwaves. Find a friend in Japan who's willing to do it for you. or something.

By the way, if you're thinking of doing this, fight the broadcast flag. It's only good for the U.S. right now, but as most countries tend to follow in the footsteps of the U.S., it should be stopped here.

That is true. Complete movies are not allowed here, and if they are found, they are usually deleted pretty quickly, because (1) the limit is 100 MB, and (2) people who are dumb enough to upload complete movies usually also don't know how to keep quiet about it.
I don't need any crap comments but if you got info when it comes to getting this stuff...

*Oh and it is against the rules of this site to inquire about downloading complete episodes of any anime.*
