Final Cut Audio Popping

Post by Hactar42 » Sat Mar 26, 2005 5:46 pm

I am using my mac and Final Cut to edit a video. Any audio source I import develops a popping when played in Final Cut. This popping stays with the video even when its rendered. I have tried using the audio from CDs, DVDs and mp3s, but no matter what the source, I still get popping throughout the track. There is no audible popping when it is played through any other application, and I cannot see any indications of popping when viewed through an audio editor. Please let me know what I can do to remove this from my audio tracks.

I'm not sure how to fix this problem in Final Cut Pro, but I know how to fix it in Premiere and the options are probably similar. Somewhere in the export options there should be an audio section. Look in there for something called "Audio interleaving". This should be set to "Each frame" or "1 frame" rather than "1 second" or whatever the default is. Try checking the manual/help files about interleaving audio. I'm not 100% that this is the problem, but I'm at least 80% sure....:)
