I've tried multiple programs off of download.com to split mp3s for my next music video.
Here is the problem: I set the beginning to 1:23 and the ending at 4:56 and what comes out is 3:42 to 4:50. Its ridiculous!! I had to break up the song in windows movie maker and then convert it back into an mp3. That took long and plus i lost my quality.
Does anyone know of an mp3 splitter that works well

there are 2 programs that I use to trim MP3 files:
1. mptrim - freeware (don't know if it's Free or free): has a limited song size (think it's 8 megs - if you want to edit a song over 8 megs in size, you'll have to get a pay version of it). It trims very well and is pretty precise. It was made more for trimming the beginning and endings of songs, but as there is no limit on how much of the song you can cut... you can even trim down via frames (smaller time segments) to get it really precise.
2. MP3DirectCut - freeware (again, don't know if it's F or f): haven't played with it much, but it does handle larger files than #1 above.
and, you could also go with the great program that's listed in the guides, Audacity...

the thing i like about mp3directcut is that u can open the mp3 and then open the cue file and then it actually splits the mp3 automatically according to the cue file - thats what i've been looking for for awhile. Thanks a million!
