lame error when compressing audio in virtual dub

Post by disgust » Mon Dec 12, 2005 2:58 am

I am opening an uncompressed file and trying to save it compressed.

the original file specs for the audio:

22050Hz
2 Channels (Stereo)
8-bit sample precision
PCM (uncompressed)
Layout: 3999 chunks (0.00s preload)
Length: 2954391 samples (2:13:98)
Min/avg/max/total frame size: 700/1477/33090 (5771K)
Data rate: 353 kbps (1.60% overhead)

however when I go to audio -> compression and click on "Lame MP3," no formats show. if I click on "show all formats" and try to save the file I get the following:

"error initializing audio stream compression:

the audio codec cannot compress the source audio to the desired format.

check that the sample rate and number of channels in the source is compatable with the selected compressed audio format."

however, I'm trying to use 22050Hz stereo audio. what is causing this?

hmm weird? have you tried reinstalling lame. I started using Radium after i ran into my own lame mp3 problems and have never had a problem since.

It would show up as either "MP3", "MPEG-1 Layer 3", or some similar.

thanks, it seems to be working. however, it doesn't seem to have as many options as LAME did. oh well
