Windows movie maker

Post by sharinganuser55 » Sun Jul 23, 2006 3:02 pm

I have a problem with windows movie maker. I have episodes downloaded (and the dvd's arent out yet), but when I try to put them on windows movie maker, they wont go. It could just be that I dont know how to use it. Could someone tell me how to put episodes on windows movie maker?

Nope. Promoting the use of downloaded footage is against forum rules. What anime is it anyway?

For the purpose of helping, I'll assume that this is a question more towards "how do I put multimedia into WMM," rather than specifically what media it is.

But to save reading space and time, what's the filetype? If I knew the filetype I could guess at where the problem lies.

*places bet on divx avi*
if this is the case, you can re-encode the media using virtualDub(/Mod) and [prefferably] a lossles codec such as lagarith or huffyuv
...in fact, you can also use this method for .ogm, .mpg and .mkv files if you get virtualDubMod

in windows movie maker:
click file/import into collections...
then select the video file.

you can choose whether or not to let wmm break the video into smaller clips by selecting the checkbox "create clips for video files."

...then you don't. Most likely you're trying to import an AVI file and you use CCCP or some other FFDshow codec to watch stuff.

Just go download XviD.

Remember to tell it to decode all known FourCCs when it asks.

WMM is buggy and ticky, the best thing to do is use virtual dub and save the file as avi with older footage sometimes it works better to save as old avi, this should remove your divx problem as long as you do not use a divx codec to compress the file
