f-ing FLAC

Post by Communist_Hitler » Thu Nov 16, 2006 8:21 am

Heil

I have a song encoded in this weird FLAC thing that's almost as big as a wav (go figure) and I wanna use it for a video. Anyways, I downloaded this "FLAC Frontend" thing and it says that there's an error or something and doesn't convert my file to wav. I click "Ignore errors" and it converts, but like a billion errors show up. Now I'm thinking, "o boy the song is gonna suck now"but only the first error is perceptible (a little skip in the audio) and all the others aren't noticeable at all. Now there's two things I ant to know:

1) How can I convert the FLAC file to wav but ignoring the error and not getting jerky audio

2) is there a way to batch-convert FLAC files (I downloaded the entire album in FLAC).

Thx all who answer.
We must eliminate all who are different!!!

And the best way is to make everyone equal!

WTF? o.o

FLAC (Free Lossless Audio Codec) is an open source lossless audio codec, intended to make backup copies of CDs without quality loss (hence, "lossless"). The FLAC-encoded files are roughly 80% the size of the corresponding wav files (this, of course, depends on what each file sounds like and how easy they are to compress).

So, to answer your questions:

1) That depends. If the file has an error in itself, no. If the error happens during decoding, yes. Does the original FLAC play smoothly?

2) Not that I know of.
And God spoke unto the Chicken, and He said: "Thou shalt crosseth the road", and the Chicken did cross the road, and there was much rejoicing.

Oh how convenient. A theory about God that doesn't require looking through a telescope.
