I'm having a crisis

Post by Hardrockhero » Sun Dec 17, 2006 9:34 pm

I aquired the first season of ranma as mkv files and using mkvmerge GUI i made them into avi files so i could make and amv with them, unfortunetly in movie maker the videos appear to take up to use too many codecs and my movie maker wont play the videos so i can edit them

xvid is also bad for editing

you should be able to write an avs script that will take your source directly from your matroska and load it in vdub mod so you can seek and cut clips to something lossless like lagarlith codec...in fact there are some mkv utilities out there that'll do just that for you. Again, editing kinda sucks since there's significant lag in seeking, but hey, if you're hardcore :)

I find this snippy little comment to be very short sighted. If he can't work with an MKV as source, he sure as hell won't be able to work with a DVD. An MKV would be signifigantly easier.

If they're the Ranma MKVs that have been floating around the net for years now, I've noticed they're buggy as all hell, so - yes. DVDs would be simpler.
